About WitanTech

Plant-floor software delivered end to end, and systems that keep running after handover.

WitanTech is a plant-floor software practice. The work is Ignition Perspective MES and SCADA for battery and automotive manufacturing: track and trace, gate checks, database front-ends, and production reporting, wired into the PLCs, scanners, and edge devices the line runs on.

The experience behind it comes from inside plants, not from a slide deck. MES and SCADA ownership for two battery manufacturing sites. Perspective development across three plants in startup phase. Gigafactory SCADA, warehouse management and pick-to-light, and defense industry plant overviews delivered as an integrator.

Most of the work is unglamorous, and that is the point. Track and trace that holds up on a live line. Gate checks that stop bad product. Database front-ends and reports that production and quality teams actually open in the morning. Requirements are worked out directly with the people running the line, then turned into MES workflows and operator screens.

Beyond the plant, WitanTech builds machine vision systems - TensorFlow inference on a Raspberry Pi at the station - and runs self-hosted AI infrastructure: local LLM serving, agent frameworks, and containerized services on Linux.

WitanTech is based in Milford, Michigan.

Track record

  1. 2025 - present

    MES and SCADA ownership

    Battery manufacturing, two sites

Ignition MES and SCADA ownership across both sites: track and trace, gate checks, database front-ends, and production reporting.

  2. 2024 - 2025

    Perspective standards and integration

Battery manufacturing, three plants in startup phase

Set the Ignition Perspective patterns and standards other plant engineers built on, and connected OPC-UA servers and Mitsubishi PLCs into plant-wide data collection.

  3. 2023 - 2024

    Systems integration delivery

    Multiple industrial clients

Delivered Ignition Perspective SCADA and MES systems, including a battery manufacturing gigafactory and a defense industry plant overview with live AGV tracking, plus warehouse management and pick-to-light systems for a defense industry client.

  4. 2021 - 2023

    In-house MES and machine vision

    Tire and wheel assembly plant

Built an in-house Ignition MES with a small team, automated visual inspection with TensorFlow on a Raspberry Pi, and supported MES fault resolution on a just-in-time line.

  5. 2019 - 2021

    Industrial engineering and line support

    Automotive interiors plant

Supervised equipment builders, applied LEAN principles on production lines, wrote VBA tools for production data collection and analysis, and owned the yearly plant direct labor budget.

Industries

The industries the work behind WitanTech comes from - and what the systems do there.

  • Battery manufacturing

Cell and pack plants and gigafactories: enterprise Ignition MES and SCADA, track and trace, gate checks, production reporting, and plant-wide data collection from OPC-UA servers and PLCs.

Owns the MES and SCADA for two battery manufacturing sites today, set the Perspective patterns across three plants in startup phase, and delivered SCADA for a battery gigafactory.

  • Tire and wheel assembly

High-volume assembly lines: in-house MES, ASRS and gantry logic, finished goods conveyor tracking, reject prevention, and automated inspection at the station.

Built an in-house Ignition MES with a small team and put TensorFlow inspection on a live line that stopped the conveyor on a bad part.

  • Automotive interiors

Interior and seating plants: line support, part presentation and logistics equipment, LEAN line efficiency work, and production data tools.

Supervised equipment builders producing part presentation and logistics equipment for production lines, and owned a plant direct labor budget.

  • Defense industry

Defense industry plants: real-time station status and live AGV positions on a pan-and-zoom plant overview, warehouse management and pick-to-light systems, and reusable templates that deploy fast.

Built an AGV tracking plant overview for a defense industry client, abstracted into a template that deployed quickly, plus warehouse management and pick-to-light systems on the same engagement.

  • Warehouse and logistics operations

Warehouse and material flow systems: material management, transfer history, picklists, pick-to-light, user management, and the logistics equipment that feeds the line.

Built a warehouse management system and a pick-to-light system in Ignition Perspective with a small team for a defense industry client, and logistics equipment for production lines.
